HEMP SUPPLY CHAIN
At Hemp Fortex, we take pride in managing the entire hemp supply chain—from seed to degummed fiber. By overseeing every step, we ensure quality, traceability, and a deep commitment to sustainability.
Hemp Farming
Hemp is a naturally sustainable crop. It grows quickly, needs very little water, and doesn’t rely on synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. We partner with farmers who use organic and regenerative farming methods, helping to keep the soil healthy and the surrounding environment protected. Because hemp thrives with minimal inputs, it’s an ideal choice for producing eco-friendly textiles from the ground up.
Harvesting & Retting
Once the plants mature, they are carefully harvested and laid out for retting—a traditional, natural process that helps separate the bast fibers from the woody core. Retting uses moisture and microbial action to gently break down the outer layers of the stalks, making fiber extraction easier and more effective.
Hemp Decortication Process
Once the hemp has been retted and dried, it moves into the decortication stage. As the fibers are processed, they are divided into short and long fibers. The long fibers are stronger and more suitable for spinning into high-quality yarns, while the short fibers are often used for blended textiles.
Hemp Degumming
Once the fibers are separated, they go through a degumming process to make them softer and cleaner. At Hemp Fortex, we use an eco-friendly method to remove the natural substances. This gentle process keeps the fibers strong and soft.
COMMITTED TO SUSTAINABILITY
At every step of the hemp supply chain, we ensure the highest standards for both quality and sustainability. By managing the entire process—from farming to degummed fiber—we provide products that are not only traceable but also eco-friendly. Our commitment to sustainability extends throughout our production, from the soil to the finished product, ensuring that every fiber we produce supports a cleaner, greener future.
